Lego WeDo 2.0: Space & Aviation (K-2nd)

Take off into the exciting world of Lego WeDo 2.0: Space and Aviation! In this course, children will have the opportunity to explore the wonders of the sky and beyond as they build and program their own aviation and space-themed robots. From helicopters and lunar rovers to flying animals and more, children will be able to bring their futuristic ideas to life through hands-on projects using the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit. With a range of project ideas and lesson plans to choose from, children will have the chance to soar through the world of Lego WeDo 2.0: Space and Aviation. Join us for this out-of-this-world adventure in the world of robotics!

 

Spanish for Kids (K-5th)

Spanish for Kids"" is an after-school program designed for boys and girls in grades K to 5 who are interested in learning to speak Spanish. In this program, students will develop communication skills that will enable them to introduce themselves, talk about their preferences, likes, and dislikes, express simple needs, and answer questions. They will also learn to talk about their family members and friends. Throughout the class, instructors will engage the kids in super fun activities such as singing, dancing, playing, and immersing themselves in the Spanish language. To enhance your kids' experience of learning Spanish, they will be able to practice each topic on our new platform, IXL. Through fun and interactive activities, they can reinforce each lesson learned during the after-school class. IXL lays the foundation for Spanish fluency with interactive questions, engaging audio, and real-world narratives that put a fresh spin on vocabulary and grammar skills.

 

Fall: Masters of Impressionism! (K-5th)

Join us this Fall as we explore the exciting world of Impressionism! Learn about how these famous artists changed the world of art using their imaginations and explosions of color. In this class you’ll create pinch pots, coil pots and slab hand built pottery from start to finish. You’ll even get a chance to glaze your own pottery. Our materials are professional grade stoneware and get fired in our kiln making the pieces both beautiful and functional! Ready to explore? Come on and let’s get muddy! 

 

Hip Hop Dance (K-5th)

Hip Hop by Tippi Toes is the perfect class for boys and girls, who want to dance, stay active and learn how to freestyle. This class focuses on rhythm, musicality and basic footwork. Students will develop coordination, body awareness, build self-esteem and confidence in this fun, executing and energetic class. Class begins with warm-ups and stretching and then moves into learning hip hop steps and choreography. All students will be invited to participate in our recitals (December and June).

There is an additional fee for the recital but participation is optional.


TUESDAYS

Flag Football (K-3rd)

In this super active program, players will learn the basics of flag football. Each day will end with full games, but will begin with lead-up games and skill building to help them hone their skills of throwing, catching, dodging, and flag pulling. Players will also learn how to run a huddle and create plays to share with teammates to make the most out of each snap.

 

Chess (K-5th)

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Intro to Yoga & Mindfulness (K-5th)

Join us as we connect, breathe, move and relax. Warrior Kids Yoga helps little yogis stay healthy, cope with stress and cultivate their inner strength both on and off the mat. Through our playful programs children experience the benefits of the union of breath, mind and body. Class fee includes a mat for each student to use in class and at home. 

 

Art Studio: Fall is in the Air (K-3rd)

Students will explore the visual arts by studying the world around them, the work of authors, artists and illustrators, and by experimenting with a variety of mediums. The primary goal is to have fun while creating and investigating different art concepts. We will have all new projects this session!


WEDNESDAYS

Baroody Bakes (K-5th)

There's never a time to say no to fresh baked breads and pastries. Each day, children will get a chance to create a yummy treat from pies to loaves of bread, cupcakes and biscuits. There is SURE to be something they find irresistible.

 

Scratch Coding (3rd-5th)

Welcome to our Scratch coding course! In this course, we will introduce you to the exciting world of computer programming using Scratch, a visual programming language developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Scratch makes it easy for anyone to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations. With Scratch, children can bring their ideas to life by using blocks to specify the actions that their program should take. They will start by learning how to use loops to repeat actions, control structures to make decisions, and variables to store and manipulate data. children will also learn how to use operators to perform calculations and how to use the pen tool to draw and create animations. By the end of this course, children will have the skills to create their own interactive programs in Scratch and be well on their way to becoming coding pros.

 

Zumba (K-5th)

Kids in Motion Zumba class is a high energy, contagiously exciting dance fitness workout specifically designed for children. Classes are designed with kid friendly music, movements, and routines. In addition to a dance workout, they will also play games such as freeze dance, dancing 4 corners, limbo, center star, follow the leader, balloon games, limbo, and many more. Zumba for Kids is a perfect fit for children and it creates an environment of excitement around being healthy and active! This class helps children make friends, get active after school, and love dance fitness. 

 

Art: Modern Masters (3rd-5th)

Students will learn the fundamentals of Art while exploring the work of 20th and 21st century master artists. Students will be introduced to various modern masters of art, like Warhol, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Kusama, Pollock, O’Keeffe, and Klee, and applying techniques and styles found in their works to create their own unique artworks.


THURSDAYS

Lego WeDo 2.0: Aquatic Robots (2nd-5th)

Let’s dive into the world of Lego WeDo 2.0: Aquatics! In this course, children will have the opportunity to explore the exciting world of water-themed robotics as they build and program their own creations. From dams and other structures to sea creatures and more, children will be able to bring their aquatic ideas to life through hands-on projects using the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit. As they work on their projects, children will continue to develop their STEM and computer science skills, including the ability to understand the functions of sequencing, debugging, and loops.

 

Chemistry Creations (K-2nd)

Who didn't grow up absolutely LOVING chemistry and all that comes with it? Each week, kiddos will use a science experiments, to really get an understanding on how chemical reactions work.

 

Run Club (K-5th)

Is your child ready to burn off some steam & have some fun? Join this co-ed running club where your child will have the chance to meet new friends, have a team building experience, move their bodies with fun running activities such as relays, speed, agility & quickness, & pacing all packed into an hour of movement, character building, and team fun. We will be building our cardiovascular system and muscles.

 

Mexican Cooking (2nd-5th)

Mexican cuisine is known for its rich and diverse flavors, colorful ingredients, and unique cooking techniques. From savory tacos and enchiladas to spicy, medium, or mild salsas and flavorful moles, Mexican cuisine offers a wide variety of dishes that cater to a range of tastes. The use of fresh ingredients such as avocados, tomatoes, chilies, and cilantro contributes to the vibrant and distinctive flavors that are characteristic of Mexican food. Furthermore, the cultural significance of Mexican cuisine is evident in its origin in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Our Mexican cooking class will enrich your child's experience by learning how to create authentic Mexican cuisine. This Mexican Cooking class is an amazing opportunity for boys and girls to immerse themselves in the rich and flavorful world of traditional Mexican cuisine. This season's classes will include the following mouthwatering dishes: mangonadas, entomatadas, enchiladas, tortillas, and many more!
